David Segal is a Sydney-based bonsai artist with a special interest in Australian natives.
Each of his bonsai trees is designed and created from scratch, carefully developed over many years. His unique body of work has earned recognition, with many of his trees selected for display at Australia’s national bonsai collection and winning various awards.
David has been practicing the art of bonsai for over 15 years, dedicating significant time to learning from some of the world’s leading bonsai artists, including Ryan Neil, Mauro Stemberger, and Robert Steven. From each artist, David has absorbed different philosophies and design concepts.
Mastering bonsai involves many disciplines, including horticultural care, technical application, and design. With a distinctive approach to bonsai, David continuously pushes the envelope to produce unique compositions that are truly living art. He considers himself always to be a student of the art form, constantly seeking to add new skills and discover creative ways to express himself.
